Why Wednesday’s Child Is? Childhood Inspiration.
I’ve always loved the poem Monday’s Child so when trying to come up with a fun name for my Etsy Shop (over 8 years ago now – it feels like a lifetime) it seemed a perfect fit!

The postcard was bought from the historical printers at Blists Hill Victorian Town. How could I not buy it when I saw it?
I know what you’re going to say: “But Rhona, Wednesday’s Child is supposed to be full of woe – why would you want to use that?”
I always thought, with my sewing that I could reclaim the day – everything I was making could be used to brighten your day, instead of filling it with woe,
Now with my writing I realised that a lot of the issues and themes I work with are tied to sadness, pain or grief so my day being full of woe seems to fit that too!
Now that my professional life is moving more towards the literary world and less towards the sewing world it definitely helps that I was inspired by my literary childhood!
